The Castle Halii Kai Resort at Waikoloa is a newer, deluxe, 29-acre oceanfront property (not a swimming beach) located in the Waikoloa area of the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii. This large, gated property is great for families and offers amenities that include a pool, children's pool, jacuzzi, sun deck, restaurant, bar, 18-hole golf courses nearby, clubhouse, tennis court, BBQ grills & picnic area, sundry store, gift shop, internet access, concierge, business services and an oceanfront fitness cabana. All of the spacious and comfortable two and three bedroom units have a full gourmet kitchen, central air conditioning, large, flat-screen cable TV, DVD player, full-size washer/dryer, high-speed internet access, hair dryer, premium bedding, shower/tub combo and a large private lanai. All units are non-smoking. The Castle Halii Kai Resort at Waikoloa has well-manicured grounds perfect for strolling and relaxing and is an excellent choice for travelers who desire an exceptional property on the Big Island. The famous King Shops are nearby and offer restaurants & shopping. A good swimming beach is a 5-minute drive away by car.
I inspected the Castle Halii Kai at Waikoloa on my last site inspection trip to the Big Island and I've always really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and quiet ambiance at the property. The property offers a comfortable "home-away-from-home" feeling and the friendly front desk staff welcomes you with an "Aloha spirit" at check-in. The pool area at the Halii Kai is very nice for sunbathing or just relaxing.
The Big Island is very large in size and offers many wonderful outdoor activities, both on land and in the ocean. This island has wonderful deep sea fishing expeditions along with popular tours of the farms where the famous Kona coffee is made. From horseback riding to golfing on championship PGA golf courses to snow on famous Mauna Kea to the unique Kilauea Volcano, the Big Island offers it all for guests who wish to visit this most distinct island known for its' black volcanic rock. Restaurants and shopping also abound in the most popular resort areas of Kona (about 20 minutes from the Kona Airport) and the upscale Waikoloa & Mauna Lani areas on the Kohala Coast (about 35 minutes from the Kona Airport).
